Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 7th July 2026

Our commitment

At MAYKN, we believe great communication should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to making our website as accessible and inclusive as possible, so that people of all abilities can access our content and services.

We aim to provide a website that works well for everyone, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software and keyboard-only navigation.

Our approach

Although MAYKN is not legally required to comply with the UK Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations, we voluntarily work towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility.

Accessibility is considered throughout the design, development and publishing process. As our website evolves, we continue to review existing content and ensure new pages, features and functionality are created with accessibility in mind.

Accessibility features

Our website includes a range of features designed to improve accessibility, including:

  • Semantic HTML and a clear heading structure to support navigation.
  • Sufficient colour contrast across text and interface elements.
  • Full keyboard accessibility for navigation and interactive elements.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Descriptive link text wherever possible.
  • Responsive layouts that work across a wide range of devices and zoom levels.
  • Forms with accessible labels and clear validation messages.
  • Plain English content wherever appropriate to improve readability.
  • Decorative images marked appropriately so they are ignored by assistive technologies.

Testing and ongoing improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-off project.

We regularly review our website using a combination of automated tools and manual testing, including:

  • Accessibility Checker for WordPress
  • Keyboard-only navigation testing
  • Colour contrast analysis
  • Screen reader spot checks
  • Manual review against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria

We continue to improve our website as standards evolve and as new content and functionality are introduced.

Known limitations

While we work hard to make every part of our website accessible, we recognise that some areas may not yet fully meet our standards. We are committed to identifying and resolving issues as quickly as possible.

Some content or services provided by third parties, or websites that we link to, may not meet the same accessibility standards. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of external websites, although we seek to work with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to inclusive design.

Feedback and contact

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website.

If you experience any difficulty accessing content, encounter an accessibility issue, or have suggestions for improvement, we’d love to hear from you.

Please contact us at hello@maykn.com, providing details of the page or feature you experienced difficulty with. We’ll acknowledge your enquiry promptly and do our best to provide the information you need in an accessible format while we investigate the issue.
